Middle East solar draws major investment
24 June 2010

As the solar industry draws breath after the recent Intersolar event in Munich, three things have become extremely clear:

  1. The industry revels in a focused solar show, rather than a more general “renewable energy” format. Specialised, focused shows for the solar sector deliver far more dedicated, qualified leads than the “catch-all” attempts

  2. Regionalisation is key: Even the largest show – Intersolar – has now become Intersolar Europe with extra events planned in China and India. The solar industry is increasingly saying that mega events simply do not give the quality time with customers they require, whereas focusing their efforts on regionalised marketing campaigns, and raising visibility in key growth areas is

  3. The MENA and Gulf regions are all set for lift-off!

All of this, therefore, means that next year’s inaugural GulfSol event (20-22 September 2011, Abu Dhabi) is perfectly placed to deliver on the main influencing factors.

With companies such as Trina Solar already having confirmed large-scale participation, there is no doubt that this dedicated solar platform – the first of its kind for the Middle East region – has caught the imagination.

With government spending on solar all set to increase dramatically in the next 18 months right across North Africa and throughout the Middle East, there is no doubt that the most exciting hotspot for global solar activity is currently right in the heart of what is one of the most sun-rich regions on earth!

GulfSol 2011 (www.gulfsol.com) is the first fully-focused solar exhibition to take place in the region

Full details of this exciting event are continually updated in Asian Solar magazine (www.asiansolarmag.com) and also on the website.
